A woman called us because someone got a sewer camera stuck in her drain line. Okay, that happens. Cameras can get hung up on broken fittings, roots, collapsed pipe, or other problems.
Then she casually mentioned one tiny detail…
THE CAMERA HAS BEEN STUCK IN THERE FOR OVER EIGHT YEARS! π€¦βοΈπ
Eight years! At that point, it’s not a sewer camera anymore—it’s a permanent underground surveillance system. That camera has been down there long enough to qualify for retirement benefits!
Most people lose something and think, “I probably ought to get that out.” Apparently, this situation went: “We’ll deal with it tomorrow.” Then tomorrow became next week… next year… and eventually TWO presidential terms. π
I’ve seen people procrastinate on changing water heaters, fixing dripping faucets, and cleaning out gutters—but leaving a camera stuck in your sewer for eight years deserves its own trophy.
So now American Plumbing gets to investigate an archaeological site: “Here we have a rare sewer camera, believed to have disappeared sometime around 2018.” π
Folks, if your plumber loses his camera in your sewer, you probably shouldn’t wait until the camera becomes an antique before calling somebody! πΊπΈπ¦ π§
