Yesterday we replaced a 61-YEAR-OLD, 30-gallon gas water heater. Yes… 61 YEARS OLD! 😂

This thing wasn’t a water heater anymore—it was a historical landmark with a gas valve.
It survived hurricanes, recessions, disco, eight-track tapes, dial-up internet, mullets, bell-bottoms, and probably 40 years of somebody saying, “It’s still working. Leave it alone!”
Today’s water heaters come with warranties. This one apparently came with TENURE and a retirement plan.
I’m pretty sure when it was installed, the plumber smoked a cigarette while soldering, collected $37 for the entire job, and drove home in a pickup truck with no seat belts. 😂
After 61 years, it finally decided: “I’ve heated enough showers. I’m done.”
They definitely don’t make them like they used to.
But here’s the important part: American Plumbing didn’t install this one 61 years ago… but if we had, we’d probably still be getting blamed because the damn thing finally quit! 😂😂
🇺🇸🔧 AMERICAN PLUMBING — WHEN YOUR WATER HEATER IS SO OLD THE WARRANTY WAS WRITTEN IN CURSIVE, CALL THE PLUMBERS WHO KNOW WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING AT!
