Expandable PVC repair couplings are convenient… right up until they decide they’ve had enough! 😂

Sure, they can make a PVC repair quick and easy, but burying one underground can sometimes turn your “permanent repair” into a future archaeological dig.

Think about it: underground piping deals with soil movement, settling, temperature changes, water pressure, and the occasional root that apparently has a personal vendetta against plumbing. An expandable coupling has moving/sliding sections and seals that may become weak points compared with a properly installed solid PVC repair.

Everything may look great when you cover it up. Then months or years later…
