When that tank starts leaking because it’s rusted through, there’s no magic plumbing Band-Aid. You can tighten fittings, replace valves, change heating elements, and repair certain components—but when the tank itself has failed, the water heater has officially submitted its retirement papers.
We occasionally hear, “Can’t you just patch the hole?”
Sure…if you’d also like us to put a cork in the Titanic. π
A leaking tank is generally the result of corrosion from the inside out. Even if you could somehow patch one weak spot, another may be waiting nearby saying, “My turn!”
That’s why American Plumbing isn’t going to sell you an expensive temporary repair on a water heater that belongs in the plumbing graveyard. When the tank is busted, it’s time for a replacement.
Think of it this way: You wouldn’t put a new Band-Aid on a flat tire every morning and call it repaired.
Busted water heater? Don’t fight the inevitable. Call American Plumbing!
