🚽 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AMERICAN PLUMBING: That little knob on top of your Fluidmaster fill valve is NOT a water adjustment knob! 😂

We know it looks important. It’s sitting there on top like it’s begging to be turned. But before you start twisting it like you’re cracking a safe at Fort Knox, understand this: it’s just an access cover.

Turning it left, right, three clicks, or while whispering encouraging words to your toilet will NOT raise the water level. 🤣

That cover gives access to the internal seal and components of the fill valve. If you’re trying to adjust the tank’s water level, use the actual water-level adjustment mechanism on the valve.

We’ve seen homeowners twist that cap until they’re convinced they’ve recalibrated the entire municipal water system. Meanwhile, the toilet is sitting there thinking, “Sir…that’s my hat.” 😂

So remember: knob-looking thing doesn’t always mean knob. Sometimes it’s just a cover—and sometimes turning things you don’t understand is exactly how American Plumbing ends up at your house! 🔧🚽
