Somebody (NOT a licensed plumber) thought they were repairing a drain line. Apparently, they could not get the drain line to stay together. Instead of hiring a gas fitting licensed plumber, a customer hired their general contractor (NOT LICENSED in gas fitting) to modify their gas line. To transition the 1/2" gas line to a 3/4" gas line the contractor BEAT the 1/2" gas line into the 3/4" gas line, instead of using a reducing fitting. Time goes by and the customer begins to smell gas. The gas company pulls their gas meter and forces them to hire a licensed plumbing contractor that can pull a gas permit for inspection after the gas line is repaired legally.
